Good grades are rarely about studying longer. They come from studying smarter — and a few small habits make the biggest difference.
1. Space your practice. Reviewing material over several days beats one long cram session. Even three 30-minute sessions help memory far more than one 90-minute block.
2. Test yourself. Closing the book and recalling what you remember is more effective than re-reading. Use flashcards or practice questions.
3. Plan your week. Put deadlines and study blocks in a calendar and protect them like appointments.
4. Teach it back. Explaining a concept out loud to a friend — or an empty room — shows you exactly where the gaps are.
5. Sleep. Memory consolidates overnight. An all-nighter usually costs more than it gains.
6. Remove distractions. Phone in another room, one tab open, a timer running. Our free study timer can help.
7. Ask for help early. A short session with a tutor before you are lost saves hours later.
